Just listened to this today (Saturday afternoon) and was very impressed. Couldn’t agree with Marion more that we have allowed lobbyists to infiltrate our politics to such an extent that government is actually filtered through them.
They are a pernicious and shouty side to mainstream politics, and they get away with murder. Stonewall has infiltrated, via the SNPG, every aspect of Scottish public and private life. It is almost – but not quite – beyond belief the power that this group, representing a tiny minority, has accumulated to itself.
As the voice of homosexuals, it had a legitimate meaning and purpose because gays and lesbians were discriminated against, and gay men, in particular. Trans people have no such worries because they already have their human and civil rights. Now, they want everyone else’s, especially women’s.
The big question is: why can’t they be trans? I think that the answer lies in the trans women side of this. The Stonewall umbrella covers not only genuine body dysphoric people, but also transvestites, cross-dressers, autogynephiles, fetishists of all kinds. A good number of these will be homosexual, even if they can’t admit it, but a good number will also be heterosexual.
Autogynephiles are often heterosexual, while being male most of the time, but female some of the time, and they get their kicks from their female persona. All these people want access to women’s spaces and rights, and most of them will not even take hormones: they will be male-bodied ‘trans women’, so-called. The real reason that they insist on being called ‘women’ and insist that they ARE ‘women’ (and, to the shame of many women, many of our sex support them in this delusion and are cutting their own throats, figuratively speaking) is that it is only by BEING women that they can access our spaces.
For some, it is for validation, but for others, I suspect it is the sexual thrill of accessing women’s spaces, looking at women, listening to women, making women feel intimidated, pushing them out of their own spaces, taking over their spaces and their sex-based activities. These actions are so typical of some non-trans males and their attitudes to women that it is hard to escape the assumption that they are men pretending to be women, some of them.
It is why Nicola Sturgeon and her acolytes go along with this stuff that is utterly baffling. You really have to suspend all science, biology, common sense, logic, rational thought to believe this stuff. Yet, they do. It comes so close to religious and cultist fervour, a form of brainwashing, that it is frightening. And this is what independence is being sacrificed for. I suspect it was also what Alec Salmond was targeted for, this religiosity having infiltrated the civil service, as well as the SPADS, party workers and many political representatives. Who knows, maybe even the legal profession.
No way could independence – and Alex Salmond is still absolutely wedded to independence – stand in the way of the GRA Reform and Hate Crime bills. Even this, if passed, will not be the end. They will keep on pushing until women are non-existent in public life, in sports, in any form of public participation because I really do believe that is their aim. Some of them actually believe that women are an aberration of nature and they are the real women. Chilling, but true, I’m sorry to say. Stepford Wives, anyone?

Thanks Marion and Roddy for this broadcast enjoyed listening to it and as always Marion saying the words I’ve been feeling these past few months. My heart is also broken. My best recollection of the highs over the years attending SNP Conference for “The Speech” the excitement, the atmosphere, the build up, the emotions and the tears, need I say more. “Now Is The Time” the words were spoken at one of them. I have mixed emotions right now, reminds me when you were a wean and discovered Santa an the Tooth Fairy didn’t exist. Well am aw grown up noo and I am no livin in a fairy-tale land “Once Upon A Time” I must accept that Independence wont be happening any time soon. Over the last couple of days I gave myself a damn good reality check, it wasn’t pleasant to discover what a complete and utter mug I’ve been. I’ll be retired, waiting patiently for my promised big pension….. 2 years from now, to perhaps hear an announcement. I want action not speeches heard it all. I will keep believing, as have many others, who have been waiting much longer than I have and well into their retirement. Yes I do know it is not just for me, I speak for our younger generations and our future generations.
