Really good show, BB. Lots of good stuff there. The bit about Redmond’s, and, formerly, Parnell’s party was excellently made: Peter A. Bell has always had my respect, and I like him as a person, too, but his dismissal of ALBA is troubling precisely because of what happened in Ireland when the impasse on independence led to the establishment of Sinn Fein as the true party of independence, and Redmond’s party was eclipsed and superseded.
They, too hunkered down and settled in, and they, too, were treated with the same disrespect as the SNP is now. However, I do think ALBA needs to really make its mark soon, by abandoning the path of the SNP, and forging a new one, offering an alternative. Amalgamation might well occur in the future, but, right now, the SNP needs to be scared witless.
I think all the women in the SNP who support this trans stuff have been played, are being played. It pains me to think that so many of my own sex are so daft, but there you are. I used to wonder how on earth a woman would let a new partner into her life and then stood back while that partner ill-treated and abused, and eventually killed her child. It can only be that females are programmed by their biology to find someone new to ‘look after them’ and to have sex with, that, sometimes, those things overcome any intelligent response to obvious triggers that indicate the very opposite. In other words, their innate need to have someone around trumps their need to protect their child.
It is a chilling proposition, but I believe this is similar to those seemingly idiotic women who support the trans issue against all the evidence that it is inherently against the best interests of females as a group: better to be part of something insane than to be an outsider with no support. I doubt whether they view it that way, but it is the only thing that makes sense – they are simply inherently weak-minded people whose own need to feel part of something overrides any sense of priority or alarm mechanism they might possess.
Very disappointed, but not surprised, to learn that Craig Murray supports the trans lobby, or, at least, trans people (well, men). Lots and lots of females actually spoke out about his incarceration and supported him, and I include myself in that number. I think he is unable to distinguish between ‘good’ women and those whom he believes have made his life difficult: the alphabet women; the women who accused him when he was still an ambassador; Lady Dorrian. None of the alphabet women wanted to take Alec Salmond to trial, and that has been established from the evidence, regardless of what happened later and who might have pressured them; the women who accused him in Kazakhstan were certainly encouraged to do so by elements not in the limelight, rather than by their own agency; and Lady Dorrian did not stray from the judicial rules even though ‘jigsaw identification’ has never been cited before, as Mr Murray was actually convicted of Contempt of Court.
His sentence was unnecessarily heavy, but it was reduced eventually. I don’t feel that Mr Murray has looked at the bigger picture and he may well be reacting to unacknowledged sexism and misogyny in himself, but, of course, I might be very wrong. It shows, however, that this issue is dividing people far more even than independence does, and shows, too, I think, that it is independence that is the real distraction for the trans lobby in Scotland, and not the other way round. It is profoundly disturbing that a man of his standing in the human rights stakes should adopt such a naive and intellectually-bereft stance.

I think the problem is that the British establishment have infuriated the SNP as they have in England with the mainstream Westminster party’s. When we finally get rid of the current cabal that run the SNP we must put in place countermeasures that prevents the upper echelon having so much control and power ,decision making needs to be put back in the hands of the members. It maybe hard for the SNP to break the mold that sturgeon has created she has corrupted and poisoned the peoples party. Alba is the great hope , when the SNP realise we will vote with our feet they may reengage. However I think they have become to use to their 80k Westminster wages. They have sold their souls, hence the comfy slippers. There are people in the party who are still good and I rate. However it’s also full of Unionists rats which need cleansed.
