The pollsters tell us if there is to be a UK General Election tomorrow the official opposition in Scotland would effectively be wiped out.
The British Conservative and Unionist Party had their five minutes in the Scottish limelight, a mini short lived revival of their fortunes.
The reality is that not since 1955 has this very English orientated Party won an election in Scotland.
There is a phrase used regarding the curse of the vile illness cancer where a patient goes into ‘remission.’
During this time individuals struck down with the disease seem to be making a remarkable recovery.
I, remember vividly with my own father a few days before his passing he suddenly seemed on the mend.
I, as a 12 year old believed that my prayers had been answered, there was a god after all and my dad was cured!
He died 4 days later, I was devastated, I miss him to this day.
I think this probably is a main factor in me being so cynical of all religions, including the one I was born into.
The reality is, remission is a false dawn.
The brain knows the end is near and tries one last huge effort before giving into the inevitable.
That describes the British Conservatives in Scotland ‘revival’ and the British Union.
Both are in remission as far as Scotland is concerned.
Unlike the passing of my beloved dad, many like myself await with glee the death rattle of the Tories and the British Union.
The Labour Party, that once stood like a colossus in Scotland is long past its sell by date.
Throughout the generations Labour used and abused the trust of the Scottish People to enrich themselves as individuals.
Their sole purpose in these times was not to improve the lives of Scots, it was, as now, to do the bidding of London.
Their plan and route to power is always to keep the Scottish people poor and needy.
The thinking is that if the people are taken out of poverty they might change their political leanings.
The solution, pretend you care and make minor concessions however keep them poor, keep their votes!
Their main goal is and has always been to ensure that the Westminster hegemony over Scotland remains.
Union before everything and screw the Scottish voters!
Since Devolution in 1999 this particular London based Party has had 8 Branch Managers, each more incompetent than the previous one.
The present incumbent is vying for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as the thickest politician to be a Branch Manager in Scotland category.
The Dick, Leonard chap is just fortunate that at the same time as he is embarrassing himself every week there are even bigger fools competing for this title.
The British Whore Party or Liberal Democrats have Wee Willie fae Fife in charge of a handful of haddies at Holyrood.
The latest Branch Manager for the Tories is none other than Lovejoy Jackson the second hand car salesman and
art critic!

These 3 men placed, as they have been by their London masters are not worthy of having any input into Scottish Political life, they are pygmies!.
Their remit is to protect the desires and wishes of voters in England and Wales and to ignore the desires and wishes of Scottish voters.
The political situation in the UK is chaotic at present.
There has not been as much danger to our way of life and freedoms since WWII.
At that time it was German fascists that threatened the very fabric of our lives in UK.
Today we have home grown fascists that are trying to do the very same.
Their disregard for the Law or Parliament, precedents and customs.
Their refusal to recognise the democratic wishes of the Scottish people or the rights of EU Nationals living in UK..
Their actions in proroguing Parliament, misleading the Monarch, pulling votes and denying scrutiny of Bills are the actions of fascists, not democrats.
Everyone in Scotland knows that the time is fast approaching for the people to make a choice between two Unions.
The undemocratic, lawless uncaring British Union or the European Union.

This brings me to the ‘hastily’ arranged Yes Rally next Saturday 1.30 -3.30 ,Freedom Square, Glasgow.
Nicola Sturgeon is the leader of the most popular Political Party in the UK, The Scottish National Party.
Her Party has been in government for 12 years and if the polls are to be believed another 12 would not be a surprise.
The SNP has the largest membership per head of population than any other Party in the western world.
These days something like 1 out of every 40 adults you meet in your daily life in Scotland is a member of the SNP.
This is the only Party in Scotland that is in a position to bring us our independence.
Within the massed ranks of our movement are people of all shapes, sizes, ages, lifestyles and views.
That is the strength of our movement while all the British Parties talk of broad churches the reality is they are narrow minded and narrow appeal parties.
Our YES Movement is truly a broad church.
Some in that alliance are happy clappy, some are as miserable as an Aberdonian at a charity function.
Many on social media have been less than enthusiastic about this upcoming extravaganza next weekend in Glasgow.
There are a few asking, ‘Why now?’
These are the same people who previously were asking ‘Why not now?’ when Nicola didn’t appear at any of the AUOB Marches.
Here is something to ponder, Nicola does not need to ride on the back of a big ugly brown bull, a tank or go on to a cookery or TV comedy Show to get recognition or to command attention.
She just needs to walk down any street in Scotland to be mobbed by well wishers and supporters.
She could merely call a Press Conference at Bute House and the media the propagandists the TV cameras would roll up to hear whatever announcement she had to make.
That she has chosen to go to the most famous place in Glasgow. (excluding Ibrox Stadium of course!)
It should be telling you all this is no ‘publicity stunt’ no photo opportunity, this is something special!.
She does not need to do anything to boost her popularity, it is already off the Richter scale.
Nicola is going to this landmark in our city to share with you, the Yessers before all else, that the campaign is about to begin!
Over 200,000 people recently made their way to Auld Reekie to demand a Referendum.
How many of you will make it to the Dear Green Place to hear that your wishes for a Referendum are to be met?
Our time has arrived, it is the moment to rid Scotland of the accursed Union and to build a better society for everyone.
We will not be like our opponents we will not leave anyone behind, we are all ‘Jock Tamson’s Bairns!’
Saor Alba gu brath.
Webcom Radio is Now Playing:
Well said, nailed it barrheadboy
Saor Alba gu Bràth 🦄🦄🦄
Nice comedic touch with the Ibrox reference 😜😀😃
Well said
.a joy to read, we are so lucky to have such good people from all walks of life, good people who live and work in Scotland and can see how pointless it is to continue on the road to self destruction, if we do not get off this unionist roundabout to nowhere, ..If the people of Scotland dont stand up for Scotland..stand together and get our independence for Scotland..not one unionist will ever go to Westminster with the good of Scotland in their heart ..We will become the down trotten Scots..we will become the WM joke ..and I don’t think that’s a place any proud Scots want be ..i will be there, let’s all be there💛💛💛
Good but you may need to rethink your choice of the word ‘pygmies’.
You know Grace, That’s exactly where the proud Scots want to be, just ask them people like Gordon Brown, David Mundell, Alistair Jack, Alistair Darling, Ruth Davidson etc the list is endless, they’ll all tell you they’re “Proud Scots” but I know what they are and I’m sure Roddie does too,
I’m a Scot but not a proud one especially after 2014, we’ve had over 300 years of “Proud Scots” feathering their nest at the expense of their own countrymen while we did nothing about it, I don’t see much to be proud of there.
One day I hope to be a proud Scot
Graeme
As a long time of admirer of your Indy efforts Rody, I do not like to quibble about your writing. I generally admire it. In line though with modern developments in the treatment of cancer I feel a duty to those current or future sufferers or relatives of sufferers:- . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . … .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . Following what must have been a tragic part of your life, you comment of cancer:- “The reality is, remission is a false dawn.
The brain knows the end is near and tries one last huge effort before giving into the inevitable.”
It would surely have been more accurate these days to write:- “The reality is, remission is sometimes a false dawn.
The brain knows the end is near and makes a huge effort. Sometimes death is inevitable despite this.”
Cancer treatments have improved vastly over recent years since my father and yours were taken.
Sorry for the typo. Roddy was intended. Perhaps I should also underline that I have nothing but support for your conclusion. Our time has certainly arrived, “it is the moment to rid Scotland of the accursed Union and to build a better society for everyone..”
Not a problem Tom the blog was not a commentary on cancer or treatments, if I was to be any more explicit I would need a far greater number of words. my readers would be bored.
Good stuff, Roddie.
Your point on the Trojan Horse that was the Labour party in Scotland was very well made, ie:
“The thinking is that if the people are taken out of poverty they might change their political leaning” – so true and so chilling. But for me the disgrace is that where many countries have no means of escaping poverty, sickness and squalor, Scotland genuinely had (and has) the means and the great resources to eradicate these and to offer us a seat at the top table – but it’s been stolen from us. We’ve been conned to hell. The likes of Alistair Darling and his poxy predecessors sitting among the trappings while my family, your family and your readers’ families died in tenements from ailments that could’ve long been avoided or better treated makes me vomit – hey, as an example, we have a brand-new and hi-tech Southern General Hospital we’d never have had under the English parties.
The current generations of Scots, old enough to cast a vote, are in the unique position* of being able to stand tall and sweep these bastards out of our kitchens and our living rooms, and to send a message to our deceased loved ones that it’s payback time as far as the thugs are concerned.
*That unique position is provided by the tiny-wee fact that we have a strong, shrewd and very Scottish, political party fighting our corner; we’re lucky we have them.
And, during a period of it being somehow ‘fashionable’ to knock the SNP, it’s refreshing that certain bloggers are able to maintain a sensible restraint while the Establishment, Westminster, the Tories and the Press and broadcasting media in this country are full-throttle corruption. Winning back a nation’s independence after a 300 year propaganda mind-f*ck is a delicate game of chess with a cunning adversary who’ll stop at nothing to maintain the con. What we have in our favour – apart from a brilliant SNP team – is that the Westminster headless chicken has the small matter of Brexit to deal with. I think the SNP are playing them perfectly, I think we’re holding a great hand of cards.
I’m fast approaching my 63rd year, and having seen what the Westminster machine has done to my family, my friends and my neighbours and countless Scots for bloody generations – and the acts they’re very capable of – I’m willing to wait for the right time. When is the ‘right time’? The right time is when we’ve won our independence, and if we get it wrong this time then I doubt I’ll ever see it. I for one have the patience and every confidence in the direction we’re being carried by the party of independence. I’m patient – as Scotland’s inevitable destiny’s worth it – and I’d never gloat (well, maybe a little) when I’ll be lifting a pint at my mates and telling them; ‘I told you so!’, and to those unionists and naysayers, desperately losing their dirty war, a sincere ‘GIRUY’.
Thanks for your work, Roddie.
I think there will be a lot of people who would like to be there to see NS on Saturday but the AUOB march in Edinburgh was quite recent and people just don’t have the money to do both I wish there had been a bit more time between the two.
