Another blockbuster week in the Scottish political sphere. My panel this week consists of Lloyd Quinan of The SNP, Eva Comrie the Independent for Independence candidate for Alloa & Grangemouth and making a guest appearance Allan Petrie of Not My Parliament. Sadly, travel complications meant that Phil Boswell was unable to join us this week.
A real great pity. I would truly have enjoyed Phil’s thoughts on Rishi Sunak calling 50% + of Scotland’s citizens extremists. Fortunately, the panel members too were suitably enraged to give Sunak his horoscope!
We also discussed Alistair Union Jack’s plan to have new nuclear power stations and waste centres in Scotland as well as having the unelected HOL scrutinise any future Scottish legislation. He has said he will wait till post 2026 when he envisages a Unionist coalition running Holyrood. Well done SNP and Alba for being the divisive forces you have both become. As Prism has advocated for several years now Scottish unity, is the only hope of us attaining our independence. Sadly our parties keep wanting to put themselves before the nation on every occasion!
We had the sight this week of two SNP MSPs extolling the virtues and stability of the union as a way of ensuring us net zero (A PR gimmick!) not an achievable reality. The other suggestion was post independence we should retain some form of union with England. How idiotic, anything the Anglos are involved in has to bend to their will or they destroy it! These are supposedly two of our independence warriors!
We had the new First Minister and a Cabinet Secy up at the Cromarty Freeport endorsing the concept and the Sumitomo Electric Co. that will operate from said freeport where their task will be to take Scottish energy and transport it to England, all at no revenue to Scotland of course!
The Greens this week expelling 13 of their members for telling the truth that sex is a biological reality. That was just too much for wee Paddy Harvie and his Canadian co-leader to hear. There you have it, to be a Scottish Green you need to deny science and accept feelings instead.

Yes, Lloyd is right to liken the dubious values and behaviour of the SNP colonial administrators directly to our oppressor, for in a colonial society it is ‘only the values of the colonizer that are sovereign’ (Memmi) and which protects the interest of the colonizer.

Yes, a colonised people are always subject to racism, which ‘is a consubstantial part’ of colonialism (Memmi); moreover, colonialism involves not just any old racism, but rather a form of ‘hateful racism’ (Cesaire), which is not unconnected to Sunak’s imperial warning on how the oppressor views other peoples whom they believe they have procured, and who they think they own.
So yes on all three aspects a colonised people are subject to: colonial values, colonial plunder, and colonial racism, each providing more than enough urgent reason for independence/liberation.
And colonialism always involves a ‘mediocre meritocracy’ (Fanon) running its affairs and institutions and promoted way beyond its competence, as Eva highlights; which explains the worsening crises in all areas and levels of governance – justice, health, education, ferries, housing, roads, culture etc etc etc. Basically nothing functions well in a colony and nothing is expected to function well. Liberation is the only remedy for the constant malaise.

I was fuming on Wednesday evening when a woman member of the audience stated that the pylons that will carry the electricity would spoil Scotland’s scenery. Well, I agree with her, but what about the theft of Scotland’s resources? As she appeared to be a newcomer, I suppose the scenery means more.
John Swinney, Kate Forbes et al are neoliberals, Lloyd, which is why their policies chime with those of England’s elite and our American cousins’, as well.
Absolutely agree with Allan that net zero is, and always was, impossible to achieve. Sounds good but means zilch.

The expulsion of 13 Greens from their party would be hilarious if it were not so serious. These folk are showing their true colours – and it ain’t green; it’s rainbow colours. The TRAs give themselves away when they get angry and we can see what they really are under all the claptrap and rainbow veils. Out and out a men’s rights movement of a certain kind.
Great news for FOR WOMEN SCOTLAND: they have been granted permission to appeal to the Supreme Court on the issue of ‘what does ‘woman’ mean in terms of the Equality Act 2010 and its exemptions?’ If it is upheld that a Gender Recognition Certificate means that a man is a ‘woman’ in law in all circumstances, then women’s rights are lost completely. There is no way back from that. Nothing we say or do can stand – in law – against these men in frocks undermining every aspect of our lives.
It would be the biggest betrayal in law and against sanity for the female right to exist in society as the female sex, separate but complementary to the male sex, to be removed. It would destroy every advance we have made in the past hundred years, and it would apply equally to England, Wales and NI because that court is deemed to be the highest in the land.
JK Rowling, bless her, has already pledged a huge sum, and donations are rolling in to the website, ‘For Women Scotland’, but the costs will be massive. As we all know, the TRAs receive millions from the public purse while the women have to fund everything themselves. We shall see whether the SC of the UK has a spine or, like the Scottish courts, will succumb to the insanity and delusion. If it does, I think a revolution will follow in Scotland, which, in turn, will have all kinds of ramifications for the Union. The SC of the UK is already despised here by at least half the population. This would cement our antipathy, both as women (and supporting men) and as Scots within the Union, because it would be a signal that our interests are also up for exploitation, in law, were we to take our case to the SC of the UK. Justice must be seen to be done. Women and Scots have seen precious little respect from the courts to date.
re ” Climate Crisis ” ……not sure exactly which points yourself & Phil disagree on , Roddy : I’m def with Phil on the nature of this – bogus , highly-politicised , vast profit generating – exercise in perception control/manipulation and was so well before seeing this excellent , credible & coherent selection of * dissident * voices .
Whether yourself and/or others are persuaded by the arguments herein , it’s surely worthwhile to hear informed , counter-arguments to the ” no debate ” ” the Science is settled ” ( as is said in the doc , if it’s ” settled ” it’s not Science ” , Science is a method , not a monolith ) Climate * Emergency * juggernaut that looks set to flatten everything in it’s wake , most concerningly , freedoms we – carelessly it seems – thought were ours by right and were inviolable .
I take the position that man’s actions do lead to an increase in the global warming arena.That said I do not believe the extremists and do accept some of the more outrageous concepts that woukd see us all wearing yoghurt sandals and cycling everywhere
If you watch the video ( did I forget to link it , can’t see it in my comment ? ) you’ll see that no-one is denying that the climate is changing – as it always has – but the real-life data tells us that the degree of change is minuscule in historical terms , that the modelling / projections are fatuous and that the alarmist doom-mongering is absurd and heavily politically motivated – not to mention profit-motivated . This is just some of the points referred-to in the video . It’s a no-brainer that we shouldn’t be pumping the filthy detritus of our wasteful throw-away * culture/s * into the seas , air and land of our Planet , but this is not the same as saying the actions of humankind are the main cause of Global Warming ; a falsehood on the back of which all manner of freedom-destroying impositions are being made , with much more draconian ones to come if the zealots & * Green * profiteers are not challenged
