We live in the strangest of times, in years to come many a thesis will be written on Brexit and the implosion of the English Empire.
Today sees the start of the Court of Session Appeal at the Supreme Court in London.
I have made the point on social media this is a win-win outcome for the Scottish Independence Movement.
Should the decision be upheld the Anglo-Brits, Little Englanders and London media bubble will go into apoplexy that Scottish Law has won the day.
The anti-Scottishness racism will go into overdrive sending more and more Scots into the independence camp.
Should the Scottish Court’s wisdom be struck down then more people will flock to the cause and those already there will have yet more confirmation of London’s contempt for all things Scottish.
It is my opinion too that this is also a win-win situation for Boris and the Brexiteers.
The decision of the Scottish Court being ratified allows the Leavers to invoke that ‘Dunkirk Spirit.’
The whole world is against them, they stand alone, fighting to save Mother England from all comers.
The Tory Rebels and Labour Leavers can be united around a ‘new deal’ to save Brexit.
The decision goes the other way then Proroguing continues and it is played as a huge victory for Brexit and will result in outpourings of Little Englander triumphalism.
Meanwhile, what is the play in action?
I stated a long time ago that Ireland was the roadblock for Brexit.
In November 2017 Theresa May announced she had negotiated the Withdrawal Agreement with the EU.
When those of us that understood a little of Irish politics viewed this WA with a Backstop we knew that the most British of the British, The DUP would go absolutely Tonto!
What had been agreed in the November by the British was being denied by the following March.
The time since then the Brits have moved a narrative that the big bad Backstop is a device designed by the evil EU.
Nothing could be further from the truth, this solution was 100% a UK idea and solution to the EU/British/Irish Border conundrum.
The border question haunted the remainder of May’s tenure as English PM.
It was the factor that indeed ended her time as the worst ever PM of the Union, till now!
The 10 DUP votes at Westminster were crucial to the May Government, without them she could not get anything through Parliament.
This meant she was left with an intractable position on the island of Ireland and no way of solving it.
Her failure was sealed in November 2017 when she negotiated the WA without getting Agreement from the DUP.

Recent events at Westminster have changed this situation completely for the English Imperial Masters.
The present games being played out at Westminster allow a minority Tory Party to govern with impunity.
The Opposition Parties have all agreed they will not countenance bringing down the government until the threat of a ‘No Deal Brexit’ has gone away.
The only ways this can happen is for Johnson to either ask for an extension or conjoure up a deal before October 31st.
He has made it quite clear he will not ask for an extension so that leaves only one option, a deal.
IMHO I believe that the UK Gov using smoke and mirrors will dust down the original WA and repackage the deal to enable Westminster to sanction it.
There is no good Brexit, only different flavours of it.
The best of a bad bunch from both the UK and EU is to have the EU border down the Irish Sea.
This keeps the GFA intact, it ensures there is no hard border on the island of Ireland and the EU has a closed border with UK.
What has been lost in everything is that Northern Ireland, just like Scotland voted to Remain.
The undemocratic DUP ably assisted by the corrupt, uninterested, ignorant London media gave the impression that NI was an enthusiastic Brexit part of the English Empire.
The deal agreed, the people of NI keep their freedom of movement on their island.
Using their Irish Passports and dual nationality their freedom of movement throughout EU is also assured.
The Brexiteers get to leave the EU, the Tories get to declare a great victory over evil Johnny Foreigner.
Getting this accepted at Westminster does present some difficulties for Johnson however the threat of Brexit not happening will frighten enough of the ERG lot to fall into line.
We know there is a large contingent of Labour rebels coalescing around Stephen Kinnock that are willing to defy their whips and vote with the Tories for Brexit.
The 10 DUP votes are now worthless and cannot force the UK Government to follow their wishes.
This leaves some Labour MPs the SNP, Plaid, firmly against and too few in number.
I won’t attempt to guess the Liberal position, especially with the charlatan that leads this band of political prostitutes at present.
The most British of the British DUP are about to find out how irrelevant they are to the Anglo-Brits and that their devotion to London is not reciprocated.
The great hero of Ulster Unionism, Edward Carson learned too late never to trust the English, especially Tories.
Unfortunately, the DUP like so many British devotees on these islands have not learned from history.

When this deal is announced, the DUP will scream about betrayal and London will ignore them!
The Scottish Government will scream about unfairness and that Scotland should have the same arrangement with the EU.
London will ignore them, safe in the knowledge their Scottish Tory stooges will tow the London line and repeat the Brexit narrative ad nauseam.
The Scottish Tories have shown at every turn they will always stand up for the English voters wishes and sit down and shut up for their own Scottish voters.
Dick Leonard and Willie Rennie have already signalled London that they will be enthusiastic collaborators with whatever London and England desire.
Both of these little men have indicated openly that no matter how Scotland votes they will always put the wishes of the neighbouring country of England first.
This leaves just the SGP and the SNP to carry the torch for Scottish Independence.
We should never forget when the Greens get up in the morning their first thought is more likely to be Yoghurt Sandals not Scottish Independence.
Therefore, again IMHO, if you are serious about Independence the only sensible choice is the SNP.
There is a lot of discussion and frustration about tactics and lack of movement by the Party.
A lot of that is fair criticism, at times it seems the gradualist approach has become the snail approach.
I truly believe that the SNP is playing out a strategy agreed with our European partners and come November 1st or whatever date we leave the EU you will see a massive change of pace.
I am as anxious as any of you to see my country free of English domination.
I have been chasing this dream since I was a 16 year old child.
I am heading towards my 70s time is running out, I am though prepared to wait a little longer.
Please though Nicola, not too long!
Webcom Radio is Now Playing:
Your thoughts on this are very close to mine BB. The events in Luxembourg yesterday and the proceedings in the UK Supreme Court might have unanticipated consequences for the scenarios envisaged above though. The attractions that Boris had for the Tories might not withstand a possible double whammy with more to come. Who knows?
One thing worries me slightly about your article though 🙂 “I am heading towards my 70s time is running out..” The three score years and ten allocation is now out of date…particularly for a BB wise enough to enjoy the benefits of a Catalonian episode. 🙂
I trust you are right on the three score and ten Tom😁😁😁
Yoghurt sandals. Excellent.
I think we have all waited on the snp leadership giving some signal that there is a strategy in place, although none appear forthcoming. I hope it is because they are leak free rather than strategy free.
I shared this on my Facebook wall.

Check out my blog too.
I think we are coming to the same conclusions..
Cheers

You’re unfair on the Scottish Greens. I think you should take out the whole sentence about Yogurt Sandals.
You read that entire article and all you can come up with is that?
Tell you what when they apologise for their behaviour over OBFA come back and ask again ,fair dos?
Being of similar age I have been happy to don the crabbit old codger mantle, and the freedom it gives me to not give a monkeys. There are limits though, reasoned argument achieves more than ill tempered attacks on those who don’t share your political views. The Liberals – despite their faults – have made it crystal clear where they stand on Brexit, you don’t have to “Guess their position” it’s obvious. The Labour pro Brexit MPs, who are prepared to vote against their party have shrunk to an insignificant number, you have invented a straw man. So almost all LP MPs, SNP, Libs, Greens, Plaid, 21 Tory rebels (Who Johnson has totally pissed of) all on the same side re Brexit. Johnson’s majority now around minus 43. You have had to imagine a vast shift in allegiances to justify your argument. I am a SNP supporter BTW.
Let us watch and see
