Emigration not Immigration is the worry for UK
As the far-right gets a greater foothold in the UK, more the focus is placed on immigrants and immigration. Politicians have for decades avoided tackling this issue head on for fear of either being called racist or, more likely, being attacked by extreme right-wing knuckle-draggers and the right-wing racist media.
Narratives and false tropes are taken as factual and never challenged for fear of these attacks. This week, an English immigrant living in Monaco decided to throw out some untruths and distorted facts, which the gullible and racists in the UK were quick to jump on and proclaim as true.
Very few thought to challenge RATcliffe on his hypocrisy and fake ‘facts.’; I have no such fear.
Britain has been “colonised” by immigrants, who are draining resources from the state, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Immigrants to the UK are generally net contributors to public finances, with studies showing they often pay more in taxes than they consume in benefits and public services. Working-age migrants, in particular, contribute positively, as the UK saves on their early education costs while benefiting from their employment tax contributions.

Low wages and huge cost of living results in need for state aid. Who is to blame for that? Not immigrants, it is caused by government policies. £25 BIllion pounds to Ukraine for a start, sanctions against Russia that have boomeranged on the UK,and selling off our utilities and leaving those same utilities to increase prices unchecked.
As of late 2025 and early 2026, the UK has some of the highest prices in Europe and globally, particularly for industrial users. Industrial electricity prices are significantly higher than the EU-14 median, often described as the highest in Europe, while domestic electricity prices are among the top three highest.

UK population figures are compiled by the Office for National Statistics. Its mid-year 2025 provisional estimate was 69.4 million compared with 66.7 million in 2020 – an estimated increase of 2.7 million people, not 12 million.
The UK population was last estimated to be 58 million in 1995. So that 12 million increase is over more than three decades.

Neither Sky nor BBC can be called left-wing think tanks. Indeed, as we all know, the BBC has been the broadcasting arm for Farage in all his guises from UKIP through to Reform. He almost has a season ticket for BBC QT! Here are some other numbers that the right-wing racists do not talk about.
- Immigration: 898,000 (year ending June 2025).
- Emigration: 693,000 people left the UK during the same period.
- Net Migration: 204,000.
- Drivers: 69% of non-EU immigration was for work and study.
- Trend: This marks a 31% decrease in immigration compared to the previous 12-month period.
These provisional figures, released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in November 2025, show a sharp decline in overall immigration levels.
So, while many of that 204,000 may stay beyond their study period, many will return to their country of origin. Hardly a colonisation, however scroll through your social media and the right-wing racists would have you believe tens of thousands of illegal immigrants arrive daily and never work, never leave and are a burden on the tax payers! Estimates are that only around 4-5% of all immigrants are illegal arrivals and that the remaining 95% are legal and are here to study or work. They pay to study and pay taxes if in employment.

27 Nov 2025 — According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), net migration to the UK dropped to 204,000 in the year to June 2025. This is a drop from 649,000.
Another fact that those who support Reform fail to mention is this reality; The shortage of working-age people in the UK, driven by an ageing population and high economic inactivity, is placing significant strain on the tax base and the long-term sustainability of the state pension system. The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) and House of Lords reports indicate that with fewer workers supporting a growing number of retirees, public finances face substantial pressure.
Perhaps the biggest irony of all is this; Jim Ratcliffe doesn’t live or pay taxes in the UK. He left the UK to avoid paying taxes. He has received a loan guarantee from the UK Government of 600 million to build a refinery in Belgium. He is also in line to receive substantial financial backing in his plans to refurbish Old Trafford football stadium.T
hey require public assistance for surrounding infrastructure and transport improvements. The government has has pledged to “champion” this major urban regeneration project to boost the regional economy. Also worth noting: 73% of the playing staff at Old Trafford are immigrant footballers. Mr. Ratcliffe doesn’t seem to mind his football club being ‘colonised.’ Double standard hypocrisy!!
More hypocrisy from Mr. Ratcliffe: he has made 3,000 unemployed in the Grangemouth area and another 400 in Manchester. He is creating the unemployment and need for state aid he is complaining about.
Meanwhile, nobody is asking why almost 700,000 British citizens are emigrating from the UK! Could it be they see no future after 46 years of successive neoliberal governments destroying the very fabric of our society? They see a UK government not just lying about a genocide in Palestine but actually participating in that genocide.
They see the damage caused by English nationalism that resulted in Brexit and realise that for them and their children there is a very bleak future in an ever more dystopian UK. Arresting people for demonstrating against genocide while turning a blind eye to over 2,000 British citizens who enlisted in the IDF to commit war crimes.
They also see our government giving huge sums of money to a fascist state in Ukraine because of the English obsession with defeating Russia something that has existed in the Anglo psyche since the Crimean War, 1854-56, that had them defeated by Tsarist Russia.
The lowest pensions in the developed world, wages stagnated since 2008, when the City of London banks went bust and then handed the bill to the ordinary tax payers, not the tax avoiders like Ratcliffe!
Multiculturalism works, look at UAE and Dubai in particular here citizens (Emiratis) only constitute 11-20% of the total population. Over 80% of the remainder are immigrants, mainly from South Asia, Indians make up around 30% of the total
Pakistan, Bangladesh, making up another 20-30% of the population. There is also signifigant numbers from other Arabic nations as well as Filipinos and Werstern nations. It is estimated that around 250,000 British immigrants live there around 2%.of the total population. Although obviously Arabic is the official language, English is widely used as a business, educational, and communication language due to the diverse expatriate population. The Emiratis are not screaming about immigrants destroying their culture or not speaking their language.Indeed, they embrace immigrants and have found a successful formula to ensure everyone lives in harmony. The UAE is ranked as the world’s safest country in 2025 and early 2026, consistently topping global safety charts with an exceptionally low crime rate.
The problem for UK is not immigrants, it is a broken feudal pretend democracy that is in fact an autocracy, that is the problem. UK governance is not fit for purpose. The UK is rotten to it’s core because of greed and the pandering and deference to tax dodging bigots like Ratcliffe that is the inherent problem. The UK is a class ridden hotchpotch of nations and occupied territories ruled over by a corrupt greedy elite that sees its citizens as nothing more than a resource to be exploited and abused for the benefit of a few!
We need radical change, personally I believe the breaking of the union will begin that much needed change. A Written Constitutions for the independent nation states of Scotland, Wales and England. Reunification of the island of Ireland. A fair voting system with an elected head of State and an elected second chamber. Constitutions that protect the populations from the greed of those running the country. Electricity, Gas,Water, Rail, returned to the people, not profit generating utilities for the enriching of the few.
They used to blame the Catholics,the Irish and the blacks. Now it is the Muslims. It is all deflection from the one and only thing that is wrong the greed of the upper classes and corporations.

I get all of the stats about immigration and emmigration.
Immigration can be a good thing, a very good thing. But it needs to be managed. Far to many folks, sometimes justifiably have concerns about immigtation. Skin colour, language and religion can also play a part. Indeed, those charecteristics play a huge part of tbe division in many English towns where many coloured, asian languaged and Islamic people live in communities near comprised of f9lks of tbat ethno-religious characteristic. But they did not come overnight and many a third generation.
This I would suggest is not a good thing. It breeds division, breeds non integration and provides grievance and ammunition for the bigot, the sectarian and tbe racist.And by jingo dont we just know about sectarianism in tbe West of Scotland.
More justifiably many of us now recognise the more recent plantation of Scotland with settlers from down south. Of course not all of them are bad. Some are very good and fine human beings. But others come with z different attitude, a different mindset and different politics and cultural heritage. Do we like them, to we resent them, it’s a good question. Indeed look at tbe independence referendum vote and tbe voting of the new Scots and how they see Scots is quite clear.
Its a question that im sure would provoke a response from North American Indians or Australian Aboriginies if asked about what they thought of immigration. So is immigration good or bad. Or does it depend on who is doing the immigration.
And then of course there is clearances and or replacement. But again that depends whose doing the clearance. One thing for sure, Scotlands being cleared, gas, oil, wind power, sea space, culture, history,, language and its moving at pace.

I strongly suspect Ratciffe is one of the company bosses who are scroungers because they do not pay their workers enough to live on so are subsidised by the benefits system paying their workers the difference.

Having been a fan of Barrhead boy and the Prism for a long time I was very happy when Alliance to Liberate Scotland was formed , especially when the collective mantra was promoted , “Independence Nothing Less Nothing More” repeatedly on the Prism,
I presumed, (wrongly it appears) that the focus was to be on securing the independence of Scotland with unity of all the independence parties with one single goal “Independence Nothing Less Nothing More” without adhering to individual policies promoted by the individual parties
It seems now that the focus appears to be the promotion of immigration and the great benefits that Scotland gets from the continuous inflow of people and their assorted demands , with any dissenting voices or disagreement with the current immigration policies being silenced through the old RACIST inference
For decades Liebour , Tories , Lib Dumbs , SNP all had the same reaction when they were questioned about immigration and what were their plans to introduce a points system that selected and reflected the trades and professions required to benefit our country

You would have to be stupid or deluded not to be aware of the serious impact uncontrolled immigration is having throughout Europe and the UK , and the deliberate determination to avoid integration with demands that their culture and laws are adhered to and accomodated

What this is not is Through A Scottish Prism that is a podcast that reviews the weekly issues relating to Scotland. I am not nor will I ever be a candidate for Alliance To Liberate Scotland or any other party. I am sympathetic to the independence cause however, if you think that means I should not write a factual article on anything else then you are not in favour of free speech and somewhat narrow minded. Whatever your views on immigration I respect, though it would seem you are more in line with Reform than most independinistas who tend to take a reasoned view of this topic. You cite the UAE as if it is a beacon of integration and multiculturalism yet you ignore the many documentaries exposing the dire situation suffered by the vast numbers of immigrants of all nationalities who are in the UAE , many of these immigrants are treated like slaves who live hand to mouth in what is described as hovels and lack the funds to return to their homelands
